DUBAI – King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Centre for Arabic language (KACAl) and Saudi Arabia's National Center for Assessment in Higher Education (Qiyas) won three awards named after Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, for the Arabic language.
Sheikh Mohammed handed Prince Turki Bin Saud Bin Mohammed, president of KACST, the award in the category of the best project in localization and translation in recognition of KACST's efforts in the Arabization of sciences.
Sheikh Mohammed also handed Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Al-Mishari, president of Qiyas, the award in the category of best initiative to teach Arabic at undergraduate levels.
The Dubai ruler presented Secretary-General of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Center for Arabic Language Abdullah Bin Saleh Al-Washmi the awards for the best media work in Arabic and the best program in language policy and planning.
Sheikh Mohammed honored the winners in Dubai on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the 5th International Conference for Arabic Language. – SG/SPA
