ABHA — The Anti-Corruption National Commission (Nazaha) ordered a contractor to rebuild the bridge on Abha-Al-Namas Road after several violations were recorded.
Nazaha spokesman Abdulrahman Al-Ajlan said the commission recorded a number of violations committed by the contractor. “The project was allocated a budget of SR160 million. The commission’s branch in Asir received reports that the contractor was not adhering to the contract,” said Al-Ajlan.
He added the commission sent its field inspectors to verify the report.
“The commission found out that the contractor was not building a bridge but extending a water canal. The commission contacted the Ministry of Transport to inquire about the uncertified and unlicensed construction,” said Al-Ajlan.
The ministry replied saying it never certified or commissioned for a water canal and it is not a part of the project’s plan.
