RIYADH — The Ministry of Labor and Social Development continued to receive reports of violations in implementing total Saudization in cell phone sales and repair shops through the online service for the purpose.
Reports received through the web portal rasd.ma3an.gov.sa
will be handled swiftly in order to improve and regulate the labor market, said a press release from the ministry.
The first phase of 50-percent Saudization in cell phone sales and maintenance will come into force on June 6 (Ramadan 1), while 100 percent Saudization in the sector will be achieved in the second phase by Sept. 2 (Dhul Hijjah 1).
The ministry unveiled the Rasd Ma3an (Monitoring) service earlier this year as part of efforts to enhance the job market experience.
The monitoring service allows people to report any violation relating to the Saudization of the telecom sector and can be accessible online for filing complaints and recording details that help pin down the offenses.
The efforts aim to create job opportunities for Saudi men and women who are willing to join the industry, which yields financial benefits and provides job stability.
It also seeks to protect such professions socially and economically as they pose grave security threats, in addition to curb cover-up activities.
Citizens can notify the ministry about violators who fail to abide by the decision by contacting the ministry's customer service number 19911.
