RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued directives to take advantage of the ready sites in the expansion of the Grand Mosque and the northern, western and southern open yards (plazas) as well as the parts of the eastern plazas of the Expansion of the Grand Mosque, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The King urged all to provide the necessary services for the comfort of pilgrims while preparing new water closets and places of ablution within the expansion project, providing cold water for the expansion building and in the open yards (plazas), seeing to smooth operation of escalators and lifts to serve the vertical movement between the floors of the expansion building as well as the operation of the air conditioning, lighting and sound systems, television surveillance and fire control systems. King Salman’s orders came following his keenness to create an atmosphere to serve the guests of Allah in the holy month of Ramadan
Earlier, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and the minister of interior, who is also the Chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, asserted here during the early hours of Sunday that the leadership of the Kingdom was and is keen to provide pilgrims with the best service. He thanked Allah Almighty for this great honor, which has been given to the Kingdom to serve the two holy mosques and their visitors, SPA reported.
The Crown Prince made this statement at the end of a meeting, under his chairmanship, in Jeddah to review the security plans for the Umrah season this year and to receive Umrah pilgrims in Makkah and visitors to Madinah. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, emir of Makkah Province and chairman of the Haj Central Committee, attended the meeting.
"I thank and appreciate the efforts of my brother, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, to serve the two holy mosques. His regular presence at meetings, in this regard, strengthens the morale of all," the Crown Prince said.
He expressed pride about the efforts expended by all who work in the service of pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, thanking Allah for the role undertaken by fellow security men.
“The security men have won the confidence of fellow citizens and pilgrims. They have proved that they deserve this confidence from the pilgrims and visitors during this holy month of Ramadan and other months," the Crown Prince said.
"We thank Allah Almighty for the blessing bestowed on our country, which is the greatest, and for it to have the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and serve worshippers, from all corners of the earth and for awarding this country with a wise leadership that makes use of all physical and human potentials to the serve Islam and take care of Muslims, inside and outside the Kingdom,” he said.
