RIYADH — The Ministry of Education will relax the upper age limit for scholarship applicants who are accepted by renowned international universities.
The ministry has set upper age limits for students seeking scholarships for Master’s and PhD degrees.
“According to the ministry's conditions all Master’s degree applicants must be below 28 years and all PhD degree applicants under 35 years. However, the ministry announced it will exempt applicants from the age limit if they are accepted in one of the top 50 universities in his field of study or one of the top 100 universities in the world in general,” said a source in the ministry.
The source said the ministry constantly re-evaluates its programs to ensure that it empowers students to excel.
“The ministry aims to motivate applicants to aim for universities with advanced scientific and knowledge fields. The ministry also gave soldiers posted along the southern borders of the country the opportunity to study Islamic Studies and Arabic Language via distant learning,” said the source.
He said the ministry opened a special distant learning program exclusively for soldiers on the southern border.
“The program is offered by Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University. The Ministry of Education and Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University are proud of the soldiers protecting the country and would like to support them by providing an opportunity for them to complete their studies,” said the source.
