ABHA — The Council of Tourism Development here has begun the pilot operation of the tourist bus as part of the activities of Abha Festival. Currently, two tourist buses are being operated on a pilot buses. The event has attracted important social figures and prominent newspaper reporters.

“The first bus is a VIP while the second is an S-Class. Riders will get to know about the tourist attractions and how to get a tourist guide. They will also participate in entertainment activities designed for riders. On board of each there is a huge screen showing stops,” said Muhammad Al-Omrah, secretary-general of Abha Festival. The second deck of the bus has air-conditioned area and an open-air one.

The duration of each tour is 40 minutes during which buses will travel around Abha and pass by Al-Maqtaha Village, Al-Hazm Theater, Abu Khayal Park, Fog Walking Path, Green Mountain, old clay-made houses and farms, Abha Mall, Al-Hejaz Road, Al-Mash’had Park, King Faisal Mosque, the Traditional Square, Al-Souda Road, New Abha, Abha Dam, Art Street, Walking Path and Traditional Thulatha Market.

The route of the second tour includes Al-Matar Park, Abh-Khamis Mushat Road, Asir Mall, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, King Khalid University, Green Mountain and Abha Airport.

VIP bus accommodates 53 passengers while S-Class bus 67 passengers.
