JEDDAH – Majlis-e-Ilm-o-Adab, Jeddah, recently organized a ceremony to felicitate three children — Syed Muhammad, Syed Mustafa and Majidah Tashfeen — who completed learning the Holy Qur'an with the correct rules of recitation.
Maulana Ziyaul Hasan Nadwi was commended for his hard work in teaching the children to recite the Qur’an conforming to the rules of Tajwid. Nadwi, in his speech, shed light on the art of Tajwid, the rules that govern the rhythm and pronunciation while reciting the Qur'an. "To a great extent, Tajwid means reading the Holy Qur’an in a better and polished way,” he said.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Imbest Syed. A naat was recited by Syed Hashim. Farooq Azam Usmani from Riyadh, who came to Makkah for performing Umrah, was the chief guest. Usmani lauded the efforts of Majlis-e-Ilm-o-Adab, Jeddah, to promote Urdu language and help children become good Muslims and responsible citizens.
