MAKKAH – Civil Defense firemen doused a fire that gutted five makeshift shops selling clothes and accessories in Makkah’s Al-Ghazza District on Wednesday.
Firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to over 300 shops nearby by spraying water on the ones closest to the scene of fire, Civil Defense spokesman Col. Said Al-Sarhan said.
The fire was confined to five shops with a total area of 50 sq. meters. No deaths or injuries were reported, Al-Sarhan said.
