JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close, stock benchmark Tadawul All Share Index lost 0.46% at 6,328.55.
The best performers of the session on the Tadawul All Share were National Gas & Industrialization Co, which rose 5.82% or 1.60 points to trade at 29.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Al-Tayyar Travel Group Holding Co. added 5.71% or 2.00 points to end at 37.00 and Al-Jouf Agriculture Development Co was up 4.42% or 1.30 points to 30.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Wire Factories Company, which fell 3.46% or 1.00 points to trade at 27.90 at the close. Buruj Cooperative Insurance Co declined 3.38% or 0.70 points to end at 20.00 and Yanbu National Petrochemical Co was down 3.28% or 1.50 points to 44.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange by 118 to 30 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Gas & Industrialization Co rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.82% or 1.60 to 29.10.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.44% or 0.20 to $45.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $48.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.31% or 4.15 to trade at $1351.65 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in the Gulf, the Qatar index jumped more than 2 percent on Tuesday, leading the gains in the Gulf region, to hit its highest level in nine months after FTSE Russell relaxed the liquidity requirement on stocks.
The Qatar exchange index closed 2.18 percent higher at 11,371.12, after hitting a high of 11,396.96, a level last seen on November 11. About 17.6 million shares or worth 815 million Qatari riyals were traded on Tuesday, almost double compared to 8 million shares on Monday.
In UAE, Dubai Financial Market shares closed 5.11 percent at an intraday high of AED1.44. The DFM was the top gainer on bourse. Dubai Islamic Bank, which was the most active stock, closed 1.08 percent higher at AED5.60. The Dubai Financial Market General Index closed 0.42 percent lower at 3,587.21.
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange General Index closed 0.19 percent higher at 4,568.44. Aldar Properties 1.77 percent higher at AED2.87.
Muscat Securities MSM 30 index closed 0.33 percent lower at 5,886.96.
