JEDDAH — The Social Charity Fund has launched 'Tamkeen' initiative for employment of those eligible to the social welfare program and facilitate their recruitment in companies contracted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
The move, which is in partnership with the department of social development at the ministry, stems from a directive issued by Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Mufrej Al-Haqbani, aiming to make a list of contracted companies and available job opportunities to be fulfilled by social welfare beneficiaries.
In addition, the initiative aims at determining qualifications and skills of families receiving social security assistance and train them to enter the labor market, transforming them from aid seekers into productive members of the society.
Majed Al-Osaimi, general supervisor of the social development department, said that unveiling such initiatives come within the ministry’s continued efforts to achieve the targets of the NTP 2020 and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Al-Osaimi pointed out that the Tamkeen initiative would train the national manpower and turn recipients of social welfare payments into independent members.
He clarified that developing human resourses is the right step to generate more productive generation that contribute to the nation as the ministry is seeking to achieve its objectives through a range of related initiatives.
Abdulmohsen Al-Ashiri, general director of the Social Charity Fund, said the initiative along others that are expected to be launched by the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) are in sync with the new direction taken by the ministry’s affiliates seeking to achieve the Saudi vision.
He mentioned that Tamkeen goes hand in hand with the ministry’s vision that is striving hard to accomplish the NTP 2020 aimed to develop the human capital, in particular.
