JEDDAH — Over 50 businessmen are expected to participate in “Trade Expo Indonesia 2016” which will take place in Jakarta slated on Oct. 12 -16. The investors are looking for new opportunities in the various commerce and tourism sectors. The two countries are looking forward to increase trade activities and enhance their economic relations, said
Gunawan Marto, consul, trade promotion at the Indonesian Consulate.
The Consulate of Indonesia in Jeddah called on businessmen to take part at this exhibition which expects to have over 1,000 exhibitors and 14,000 visitor from around the world.
The exhibition displays basic products and services it also gives room to the Indonesian trade marks which got the international recognition in the fields of technology and creative industry.
According to Gunawan, Saudi investments in Indonesia exceeded SR22 billion.
The majority of these investments are in the tourism and hotels sector. He elaborated that the business exchange between the two countries is over SR30 billion annually, noting the strong bilateral relations between the two countries. Saudi Arabia remains their largest country in the Middle East with business transactions with Indonesia, he added.
The Kingdom’s imported goods from Indonesia reached SR17.6 billion, while the Saudi exported goods to Indonesia totaled SR5.4 billion.
