JEDDAH — The Izhaar Urdu Talk Masters, an Urdu Toastmasters club from the Area 34 of Division H of District 79 of Saudi Arabia, held its 72nd meeting bat a local restaurant with the theme of the meeting being education. The general evaluator for the sessions was Toastmaster Abdul Sami.
TM Mohammed Aslam Afghani gave a lecture on the importance of education. He said that education plays a very important role in one’s life. Without education it is difficult to live in this world. There are no limits for education. If one is educated, the darkness of ignorance is cleared. Every religion has given importance to education.
TM Afghani was then selected as the grammarian of the evening. It was his responsibility to correct the mistakes of the speakers. TM Liakath Khan was Aah counter of the evening. It was his duty to count all the delays or pauses done by a speakers while speaking. TM Moinuddin was selected as the timekeeper and vote counter of the evening. His responsibility was to calculate the time and votes of all the speakers.
TM Mohammed Abdul Sami, who is also the founder of the Izhaar Urdu Talk Masters, gave a brief introduction about the formation of this club. He said that this is the first Urdu Toastmasters club ever to be formed on April 12, 2012 in Jeddah. In total there are 312 Toastmasters clubs in Saudi Arabia in which 3 clubs are in Urdu language, 3 in Malayalam, few in Arabic and the rest are in English and other languages. In total there are 4 Urdu Toastmasters club in the world off which 3 are in Saudi Arabia. One in Jeddah and 2 in Eastern Province.
TM Afghani gave a brief introduction about how to present the first project of the Toastmasters, which is called ice-breaking.
TM Syed Nasir Khursheed presented the advance project of Toastmasters whose objective was “To learn how to develop and present an effective training on web”. This project is the fifth part of the advance communication series.
TM Mirza Qudrat Nawaz Baig gave a speech on social services and his experiences. He also shed light on how to improve one’s financial status in India, especially for the NRI’s returning to India?
In the table topic segment, TM Mukarram was selected as the host of the segment. In this segment one has to speak on a topic given instantly in the time period of 1-2 minutes. TM Moinuddin spoke on “current affairs and one’s future” while TM Hakeem Farooqui spoke on the present lifestyle emerging health issues. TM Syed Abdul Nasir spoke on his life experience during his stay in Saudi Arabia for the last 6 years. TM Abdul Rahman M. Baig spoke on media and its prospects while TM Abdul Rasheed Osmani spoke on the importance of social service.
TM Mukarram presented jokes as part of the humorous segment. In the general evaluation report, TM Mohammed Abdul Sami evaluated TM Syed Nasir Khursheed and TM Aslam Afghani evaluated all the other speakers.
The program concluded with the announcement of the winners of the meeting by TM Moinuddin. Best table topic speaker award was given to TM Syed Abdul Nasir by TM Hakeem Farooqui while best speaker award was given to TM Syed Naser Khursheed by TM Mohammed Abdul Sami.
