RIYADH – A Saudi soldier was killed in cross-border gunfire by Houthi rebels, the Ministry of Interior announced on Friday.
Houthi rebels started firing at the border post in Al-Dayer sector in Jazan Thursday night and the Saudi soldiers retaliated and brought the situation under control, the ministry spokesman said.
The exchange of gunfire resulted in the martyrdom of Border Guard Private First Class Khaled Ali Muhammad Asiri, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted the Interior Ministry spokesman as saying.
