Motorists in the Eastern Province breathed a sigh of relief when Al-Meena bridge was finally thrown open to traffic. The bridge along King Abdulaziz Road provides easy access to King Fahd Port in Dammam. The bridge will hopefully put an end to constant traffic jams on the road because of large trucks going into and coming out of the seaport. King Abdulaziz Road was closed for more than two years for the construction of the bridge, forcing drivers to take alternative routes, leading to huge traffic bottlenecks in many parts of the city. — Courtesy photo
