JEDDAH – Director of Civil Affairs in the Jazan Force, Brig. Gen. Abu Diyyah, has lauded Saudia’s keenness to operate extra flights to and from Jazan in support of servicemen after visiting the Airline’s new office at the headquarters of Civil Affairs in Jazan Force.
The office was set up recently specifically to provide the Armed Forces personnel stationed at the southern borders with all services, including reservations, issuing of air-tickets and completing all travel procedures.
Diyyah was briefed on the services provided to the soldiers and the ‘Saudia’ operation plan, which includes ore flights to the region, and increased seating capacity between Jazan and various regions of the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabian Airlines recently added 30 flights per week to and from Jazan, raising the number of flights to 174 per week between Jazan and Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Tabuk and Taif in response to the wishes of Armed Forces personnel stationed at the borders and the citizens in Jazan Province.
“We thank Saudi Arabian Airlines for its response to our brave soldiers’ wish to increase the number of flights and seating capacity between Jazan and several domestic airports. This matter had a positive affect in raising their morale. This response had a great effect on the soldiers at the borders,” Diyyah said.
“The employees at the Saudia office are giving the best example of the national carriers’ staff in their diligence and devotion in carrying out their duties. This confirms that the airline is replete with highly efficient and qualified staff. We express our deep thanks to them,” he said.
“Despite Saudi Arabian Airlines having converted to commercial operation according to the privatization program being carried out, it has not given up its national role. It has provided all facilities and support. Saudia has maintained the 50 percent discount on air-tickets provided to military personnel. This generous gesture deserves compliment.”
Diyyah praised Saudia’s continuous endeavor to develop its services and carry out ambitious comprehensive plans aimed at raising the standard of their services and keep pace with the latest developments in the air transport industry. — SG
