Riyadh — One of 85 suspected militants on a Saudi wanted list issued in February 2009 handed himself in to Saudi authorities, spokesman of the Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday.

Osama Ali Abdullah Damjan had contacted security services from abroad expressing a willingness to surrender and was flown home on Tuesday, he said.

Security spokesman said that the wanted person will be treated in accordance with applicable laws.

He also renewed the call by the Ministry of Interior for all wanted terror suspects to surrender to security authorities and renounce those who seek to use them as tools to achieve the goals of the enemies of the religion and homeland.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen killed two Saudi policemen in Dammam early on Tuesday, authorities said.

The officers came under “heavy fire from an unknown source” as they parked their vehicle in a commercial area in Al-Dbab neighborhood on King Saud Road, said a police spokesman.

The Interior Ministry said it has launched an investigation into the
shooting.

Two policemen were killed in a similar attack in Dammam last month.
