JEDDAH — Among 220 of warriors and in front a big crowd, Khalid Hazzazi emerged as the winner of the first Hannibal Saudi Arabia Race held recently at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).
Hazzazi finished in 0:23:54, while Ali Al-Shahrani came in second (0:23:57) and Fawaz Asiri third (0:24:21).
The first edition of Hannibal Saudi Arabia Race was organized by Saudi Sports Group and it was kicked off after splitting the participants into four groups in order to provide safety for the contestants at water, mud barriers and climbing walls that formed a challenge to the capabilities of the participants around a 7-kilometer path.
The general participants of the race are extreme thrill seekers, strong willed individuals with a giving heart and those who possess athletic stature.
The Hannibal race is an obstacle racing series with three different types of courses — 7km Speed, 13km Endurance and 18km Hell (Ultra Distance).
The course is uniquely designed to test contestants’ mental and emotional fitness and push them past their limits. The races are muddy, creative, and extreme.
