RIYADH — Wisdom Toastmasters Club (WTM), Riyadh conducted ITS annual induction ceremony at Darbar Restaurant, Riyadh Avenue Mall, recently.
The WTM Excom includes well-known social workers and professionals based in the Saudi capital.
The club helps in fostering communication, leadership skills and self-confidence in all its members in a mutually supporting and friendly environment.
The newly elected and installed members for 2017-18 Mymoona Abbas (president), Dr. Abdul Salam (president immediate past), Rafsad Vazhayil (VP education), Shibu Thomas (VP membership), Hashique Moidu (VP public relations), Shihabudheen (VP secretary), Ashique Mohammed (treasurer), Salahudheen (sergeant-at-arms).
The ceremony was conducted by Ashique Mohammed, a seasoned Toastmaster and a social worker. An overview of WTM club was given by Dr. Abdul Salam of King Saud University.
The ceremony was performed by Sajid Kandi, Area 66 director.
Mymoona Abbas, a renowned social worker and headmistress of Indian School, Riyadh, made the presidential remarks while District Director Krishna Kumar delivered an inspiring speech.
The event included a motivational speech on the topic “Toastmasters — Where Leaders are Made” by renowned public speaker Sameer Abdul Salam, who is the country manager of Underwriters Laboratories, KSA.
This was followed by a talk show “When you are the host” hosted by Sunila Chaku with Dr. Abdul Salam. It was an eye opener for many, as Sunila helped Dr. Abdul Salam unravel his very effective humanitarian network in India.
The club›s new office-bearers were inducted by Abu Anas Suliman, a founder member and club coach, and founder of the Rainbow Gavel Club, Riyadh. The vote of thanks proposed by Rafsad Vazhayil.
WTM club members, Toastmasters from other clubs in the area and guests from various sections of society were present.
