JEDDAH — The Global Network of Telangana NRIs› (GNT-NRIs) first business group G-21 felicitated Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, the sheikh of Jamia Nizamia, the oldest Islamic university in Hyderabad, and Sheikh Ul-Hadith Mohammed Khaja Shareef here recently.

The Indian scholars visited the group›s upcoming venture, an optical shop that will open in Jeddah soon.

Omer Nadwi, imam and khateeb of Masjid Sulaimania, Jeddah, and many other dignitaries along with members of GNT-NRIs attended the event.

Speaking on the occasion Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, said, “Prosperity and success lie in business. Doing business is a Sunnah because our beloved Prophet, peace be upon him, himself did business in his early life.”

He praised the Hyderabadi community for their initiative to launch the first G-21 business group. He also mentioned the unity and cohesion of the Kerala community as an example for others to emulate. He advised the participants to do business dealings with full honesty, which is important for success, growth and God›s blessings.

He appealed to all Indian Muslims living in the Kingdom not to worry about economic fluctuations because hardships and difficulties in life are trials from Allah. “One should be strong in his faith to seek help from Allah Almighty,” he said.

Maulana Nadwi said Allah has kept a big portion of people›s sustenance in business.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: “Truthful and trustworthy businessmen will be in the company of the prophets and their righteous followers on the Day of Judgment.”

He said in order to reach this highest point in after-life, one must stick to these two things: honesty and truthfulness.

“If we aim to benefit others and spend a part of our income in charity then business will definitely grow fast. Such merchants will earn rewards here and the hereafter,” he added.

Dr. Syed Ali Mahmood, patron of GNT-NRIs, welcomed the scholars saying, “Islamic scholars and professors are the backbone of the Muslim nation; they are our great assets”.

He added: “Today due to the current economic situation in Saudi Arabia, many NRIs from different parts of India are suffering serious setbacks and this business is an attempt to unite fellow Indians to do business with their small savings.”

He added: “We decided to form our first business group with 21 members who will invest a small amount of money to start a venture that will financially benefit them. We have five more groups ready for our upcoming ventures.”

President GNT-NRIs Aijaz Ahmed Khan said this was the first time the community has initiated joint business ventures. “After forming this first group of 21 members, many other community members have also joined us and now we have five more groups ready to invest. We have a solid intention to spend a part of the profit from these businesses in charity and on people who has financial difficulties,” he said.

Maulana Khwaja Sharif prayed for the success of the upcoming business as well as for the safety and prosperity of all Muslims.

G21 members including Mohammed Shameem Kausar, Syed Khaja Viqaruddin, Mirza Qudrat Nawaz Baig, Nadeem Abdul Basith, Abdullah Afzal, Abdul Rahman M. Baig, Mohammed Irfan Qureshi, Mahmoud Misri, Syed Azeezul Hassain, Syed Salman, Maulana Mohammed Naveed Afroze, Khalid Hussain Madani, Mir Arif Ali, Ahmed Abdul Hakeem and Mahmoud Balsharaf, and several other community members attended the event, which concluded with a delicious dinner in honor of the visiting dignitaries.
