JEDDAH — An agreement between Art and Culture Association in Jeddah and Jeddah Literary Club signed here on Sunday virtually puts and end to a long-standing dispute between the two entities.

The head of Jeddah Literary Club, Abdullah Al-Sulami, signed the agreement with Omar Al-Jasir, head of Art and Culture Association in Jeddah. The agreement allows the Art and Culture Association to continue its activities at the Jeddah Literary Club for five years. The agreement also stated that the Art and Culture Association events should be held only three days a week and should not overlap the Jeddah Literary club events. The agreement also states that 30 percent of main hall financial income should go to the Jeddah Literary Club.

The Jeddah Literary Club and the Art and Culture Association were at odds for a long time as the Literary Club donated its building to the Art and Culture Association (ACA) for five years.

As the contract ended the latter refused to vacate the location and demanded intervention of the Ministry of Culture and Information.
