TAIF – Taif Municipality had claimed that the accumulated sewage water in one of Taif's neighborhoods is due to non-completion of the sewerage system project by the National Water Company (NCW), noting that the municipality is responsible for carrying out the treatment and control of on-site work constantly.
The municipality reported in a response to what was published by Okaz Gazette entitled "neighborhood in Taif out of service" recently saying that the neighborhood is served by the municipality of northern Taif and is subject to the protection of health and hygiene program.
Okaz had published complaints from residents on the lack of services in their neighborhood, arguing that the area was suffering from a low level of hygiene and the presence of swamps that are causing issues including breeding mosquitoes and foul odors.
NWC has confirmed that it has taken legal action against the contractor engaged in the sewage system project in the neighborhood in order to avoid recurrence of any deficiencies causing sewage to gather inside the area.
NWC also mentioned earlier that delayed pumping to the homes of the neighborhood is due to the fact that the project is still under primary receiving procedures.
The company said it applied water and sanitation services approved by customers that can be found on the official website of the company, saying it is working hard on customer service and taking their observations in an effort to improve and raise the level of service provided to them.
A number of residents of the neighborhood complained to Okaz/Saudi Gazette of the NWC and asked them to pay the water network delivery fee of SR3,150, indicating that the amount is not for residential buildings, but for all housing units in the sense that a single building consisting of ten apartments for example might cost fees more than SR30,000.
