RIYADH — The Child Media Forum concluded its sessions with recommendations of the activation of laws and regulations of childhood protection that matches the Islamic and other international principles and parameters.
The recommendations included the integration of childhood rights in the school’s curriculum and the creation of new specializations of childhood media in Saudi Universities.
Dr. Wafa Saleh, general secretary at the National Committee for Childhood at the Ministry of Education, stressed the importance of engaging children during the preparation and presentation of media programs targeting children and their rights. She emphasized the importance of the partnership among the different social, educational and media organizations in the field of protecting the childhood and their rights.
Assistant Secretary General at the National Committee for Childhood, Fardoos Abu Alqasim revealed the appointment of Ambassador of “Childhood Media” in a week, the nomination process and its parameters will be announced online through the website of the forum. She also stated that 58 journalists are interested in childhood concerns in KSA.
The chairman of training at the Saudi Broadcasting Corporation Majid Al-Ghamidi mentioned in a presentation during the last day of the forum that all Arab countries published 6 books annually, while only Russia published 457 books each year.
Also he said that all Arab countries expenditure don’t exceed 10% of Belgium’s expenditure on Childhood Publication.
