JEDDAH — The Indian Pilgrims Welfare Forum (IPWF), under the aegis of the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, had its first meeting of 2017 here, with the new office bearers approved by the Indian Consulate were introduced.
The IPWF members from Jeddah as well as Makkah AlMukarama attended the meeting. A brainstorming session and healthy discussions were held, a first step towards the actions to be taken for the forthcoming Haj, as the number of Indian Pilgrims will be more compared to the previous year.
Mohammed Aziz Kidwai, the IPWF president, recalled during his welcome address the services rendered by the first President of IPWF Abdul Malik, followed by Rafi bhai, Shabbir Patel and Khader Khan and assured all that he would lead the forum more energetically with his dedicated team, Qamar Sada, general secretary, M. Ayoob Hakeem, field and operations in charge, Farhan AbulRub, treasurer, and with the cooperation of all IPWF members.
He also extended special thanks to the Consul General of India Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh and the Deputy Consul General and Consul Haj Mohammed Shahid Alam for their motivation and continuous support to IPWF.
Hakeem during his detailed presentation shortlisted the action plan of the team for the year 2017. Some to highlight; membership drive, distribution of responsibilities, team work, Haj preparation, family activities, etc.
Answering questions by the members Kidwai confirmed to overcome the past problems. He said that soon a subsequent IPWF meeting will be held at Makkah in order to reach those members who could not join in this meeting. The members of IPWF were overwhelmed by the strategic plan of the new office bearers to serve the Indian pilgrims to the best of their abilities.
AbdulRub extended the vote of thanks which was followed Dua by IPWF senior member Najmi Ayub Saheb.
