JEDDAH — Khak-e-Taiba Trust’s (KTT) Overseas Trustee and Chief Patron Shameem Kausar announced KTT Jeddah chapter’s new president, Mir Arif Ali, in a grand induction ceremony here. Ex-President Ahmed Abdul Hakeem was promoted as trustee of KTT.

Chief guest Syed Azmatullah, (retd IAS officer) Chairman KTT, and guests of honor Mohd Azeemuddin Qureshi, Trustee KTT and director Mohaddis E Deccan School and Dr. Haseebullah, Trustee, KTT, had come from India to attend this event. Khalid Almaeena, managing partner, Quartz Communication, and Dr. Mohiuddin Karimuddin, Senior Pediatrician, New Jeddah Clinic hospital, were the special guests of honor. Prominent members of the community too attended.

Azmatullah said, “KTT’s main aim is to serve mankind. We observed that only two percent of Indians have 58% of wealth and many people live in poverty. Muslims because of unemployment, illiteracy and ignorance are the most affected. We Muslims have a strong system of Zakat (Charity) in our religion, which is the best system to alleviate poverty, but we don’t implement or channelize it properly.”

He added, it is our responsibility to implement and channelize it. We should concentrate on education and unemployment in our community. Women empowerment is one of our organized work and we are planning to expand it. He said “We aim to have two main programs in future, first in skill development for our youth, small industry or business, second training in business management.”

Azeemuddin Qureshi, in his address, said, “Every person who is connected to our trust has blessings from Allah, as it’s a noble cause.”

Dr. Haseebullah in his speech said, “Presently Muslims and Islam all over the world are facing a critical situation. Some people are portraying Islam and Muslims negatively, even calling them terrorists and backward etc. This is not new, as it has happened in every era. But we should introspect within ourselves. Always blaming others is not a good thing.

“We should increase literacy among us. Many organizations are working on it and KTT is one of them. We need to bring a change in the community and society, also we should change our thoughts. No human being is good or bad, it is only a matter of thought.”

“If we are donating something to others, do not think of it as a big deal, this is not you who are giving, it is Allah who is making you to do it, he said.

Speaking on the occasion Almaeena said, “I believe in India there is one major problem with the Muslims and that is they have victim mentality because of ignorance, illiteracy and lack of confidence. I don’t know why the Muslims of India cannot go ahead by organizing themselves. They need organizations like Khak-e-Taiba Trust, which is a small organization but doing a great job.

“I am impressed with their work, and always say this trust is not a charity organization. You should call KTT a motivational organization or welfare organization, trying to uplift Muslims. A strong Muslim is better than a weak Muslim, strong in economy, strong in education and strong in health.”
He assured all support to the trust activities, adding KTT is like a bulb that shines a light and gives hope to people. He hoped the new president would continue the good work with his team.

Dr. Karimuddin, in his address, said, “I am very proud to be here as I am associated with this Trust since 1991. Many of the faces are familiar to me as I am seeing them since the last 30 years but I am not seeing the young generation.”

He later praised the new president and stressed on him to inject youth in Trust, as they are needed to carry the torch forward.

Kausar announced the new executive team: Mir Arif Ali president, Munawwar Ali Khan, vice president, Syed Khaja Viqaruddin, trustee and general secretary, Syed Salman, treasurer, Imran Kausar, director, KTT Computer Center; Mirza Qudrath Nawaz Baig, director education; Shakeel Afsar, director event management and Azmath Ali Imran, director social media.

Others who spoke on the occasion were Aijaz Ahmed Khan, who welcomed the gathering. He said, “This is a legacy of trust to induct new people. Mir Arif Ali is the 10th president and is a kind hearted, responsible, open minded, social worker.

Earlier Imran Kausar presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation of all the KTT activities in Jeddah and in Hyderabad.

Azmath Ali Imran’s PowerPoint presentation shed light on achievements of the outgoing president Hakeem.

Speaking on the occasion, Hakeem said, “My achievements were not mine only, but rather a teamwork. KTT is a way of work for me. He called on youth to make an ambition in life to serve humanity. He expressed his sincere gratitude to all of honoring him.
