RIYADH — RQ productions arranged Riyadh Kite festival here, the fourth consecutive kite festival by RQP, that usually happens on the occasion of Basant (a traditional Punjabi event). Basant festival marks the advent of the spring season and kite flying is a joyful part of the festival.
Hundreds of Pakistani and Asian families attended the festival at a Dar Al Sahil park, a popular venue near Janadriyah and enjoyed the colorful festival filled with fun, entertainment, games and amusement, Many delectable food stalls also attracted visitors.
There were activities for every age group, which kept the families engaged for the whole day that provided a much-needed break from routine life. The highlight of the festival was in the late afternoon when the sky was filled with the colorful kites. The concluding session was hosted by Omair Sheikh after sunset, and it included quiz and games with kids mainly the the participants. They were awarded gifts by the sponsors.
Raheel Qureshi, director of RQ productions and the main organizer of the event, was happy on the successful outcome of the festiva. “We are organizing such events in Riyadh from 2008 and it’s the fourth kite festival in a row. I am thankful to the sponsors of the festival especially my team including Irfan Sheikh, Faisal Abu Fahad, Waseem, Adnan, Omair Sheikh, Naffay Hussain and Shabbir Warsi.”
