Military courts essential to resolve terrorism — Ejaz

JEDDAH — Ejaz ul Haq, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Zia), said Pakistan has been suffering from terrorism and extremism for many years and there is a need for military courts are essential to resolve terrorism and extremism.
He was speaking to the members of Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF) recently. Amir Mohammed Khan, PJF chairman, and Shahid Naeem Khan, president, and others attended the event.
Haq said, “Terrorists are killing innocent Pakistanis. And for a quick resolution, only military courts can wipe out terrorists who have surrounded the country. Their networks are very strong. Our civilian courts and laws are weak therefore can easily escape punishment.”
He also stressed the need of unity and cooperation of all political parties for peace and stability. He said lauded the valiant Pakistan armed forces, who have rendered countless sacrifices in the war against terror.
He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an ideal investment opportunity for the members of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an association of 56 Islamic states promoting Muslim solidarity in economic, social, and political affairs.
He urged journalists to highlight the projects and bring more countries, especially our Saudi brothers, to participate and invest in CPEC. He also praised the bold decision to play the final of PSL in Lahore.
Haq, a Pakistani politician currently a member of the National Assembly, was visiting Kingdom for Umrah. He also visited the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. He served as minister for religious affairs and minorities in the government of Gen. Pervez Musharraf from 2004 to 2007, after having served as minister for labor, manpower and overseas Pakistanis in the government of Nawaz Sharif from 1990 to 1993.
A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Ejaz worked as a banker prior to entering in politics in 1988. He has been an elected member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since 1990.
Ex-federal minister Choudhry Shahbaz Hussain and Masood A. Puri president Kashmir committee Jeddah were also present.
