JEDDAH — The “Blue Wave” team of Jeddah is making preparations to travel to Qatar to participate in the H2O International Swimming Championship, scheduled to be held on April 21-22.
The team participated recently in the open championship for the Western Region in Jeddah where it won the first place. Preparations and training are continuing for the team in order to bring the swimmers to the level needed for participating in international competitions.
Captain Hani Salamah, technical manager of the team, said such championships help in encouraging the swimmers and raising their performance level.
During this season, they participated in several local and international championships in which they achieved advanced positions.
Many international bodies organizing swimming competitions have sent invitations to the team to take part in these activities during May 2017. The swimming team’s management is considering the invitations. – SG
