JEDDAH — After completing a successful participation in Hail rally and two Saudi Drift events in just 10 days, Saudi Hankook Racing Team came 2nd in the 6th and final round of Saudi GT Championship at Reem International Circuit in Riyadh.
Commenting on the team's busy schedule, captain Saeed Almouri, said: "We always work flat out, which is OK for us since we practice well and do our homework properly. Participating in four races in a short period of time is not an easy job even for big teams, however, we established ourselves as a cracking competition.”
Almouri added: "Yes, it is hard to participate in four races in a short period of time, but for us, we take it as a challenge, which we love" and added: "Our participation in Hail Rally was successful by all measures, our goal was to check for ourselves; we used Hankook DynaPro non-competiton tire, and the result was just outstanding, not a single breakdown due to tires.”
He further pointed out: "We would not be able to achieve these top results without the support of Bin Shihon Group and Hankook Tire. For instance, in Hail Rally, we achieved an amazing result, where we came 6, and my teammate, Mohammed Alorabi, finished 8th and 3rd in two Drift race rounds held last month in Riyadh, as well.”
In view of the importance of the 6th and final round of the Saudi GT Championship, Hankook Racing Team was fully prepared for this decisive round. The team went through a massive practice plan, and got the support of the world's famous pit stop team, the German Black Falcon, to maintain and ensure the highest mechanical status of the car. The team, as well, was very keen to equip their car with Hankook Ventus F200 competition tire; to be fully confident of the result and make sure to have a trouble-free race. Though the team participated in the last two rounds, iy managed to post a podium position and came second.
