United Nations — Saudi Arabia reiterated its rejection of any action to change the legal status of Al-Quds or recognize it as the capital of Israel or transfer any embassy to it.

“We call on all countries to abide by international resolutions in this regard and not to use this issue in the game of political bidding,” Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to UN Ambassador Abdullah Al-Muallami said in a speech at the UN Security Council. He said that the international community at the Paris Peace Conference on the Middle East renewed its commitment to the two-state solution as the only way to achieve peace.

Muallami said that one of the most dangerous aspects of the conflict in Palestine is what Israel is carrying out with plans to Judaize the city of Al-Quds, change its demographic structure, distort its Arab Islamic identity, and tamper with Islamic and Christian holy sites.

“The delegation of the Kingdom affirms that the road to peace is clear and well known: Independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital on the borders of June 4, 1967,” he said.

He reiterated the Kingdom’s firm position in support of Palestinian people and its stand for their inalienable rights.

“The Kingdom has not only affirmed its support for Palestinian brethren but has taken practical steps to advocate and achieve peace,” Muallami said.

“In this regard, Saudi Arabia submitted its historic peace initiative adopted by the Beirut Arab Summit in 2002 and became Arab peace initiative, representing an important historical turning point in the peace process. It established a new phase to end the Arab-Israeli conflict and lay the foundation for a just and comprehensive peace.

“The Amman Declaration issued by the last Arab summit meeting in March reaffirms this initiative and strengthens the commitment of the Arab side.
The Israeli side is expected to respond Hand-stretched out peace,” he said.
