JEDDAH — Closely threatened by Sagmit Dental Clinic and Pin Busters prior to match, Dabarkadz confidently faced ARCI-5 to succeed the last two games for a 12-10 victory sustaining fourth and last berth of the qualifiers at the end of two-round elimination of the Friday Morning Bowling League 18th meet at the Bowling City here.

Dabarkadz was actually beaten badly at 1,305-1,136 when Hairul led ARCI-5 with jackpot-winning score of 294 in Game 1 with Hana Reyes, Marcelo Manalo and Dariel Loquias solidly supporting with 228, 221 and 216. Team captain Jay Bengco and Aileen Miralbuna combined for 346 to complete their shock of Dabarkadz which Bing Amolo provided the main shield with 229.

The horrific opener tended team chief Leo Edejer to regroup and motivate their squad especially that Sagmit and Pin Busters are controlling their respective opponents. Halfway of Game 2, with only Loquias steady ARCI-5’s scoring, Amolo, Rudy Valenzuel and Ed Sardina went on a triangular binge to contain their counterpart with their respective gunning of 241, 221 and 208. This trimmed down the lead at 2,491-2,391 with Manalo and Bengco insufficiently backed Loquias up to lose Game 2 at 1,255-1,186.

Hairul re-sparked with 217 in Game 3 but a 226 from Amolo and 241 from Matet Cavite had Dabarkadz in control. With the superb augmentations from Edejer, Tess Grandia, Valenzuela and Sardina, Dabarkadz again succeeded in the end game at 1,250-1,154. The last game made Dabarkadz total scratch winner at 3,359-3,249 so that though it missed four pins in aggregate at 3641-3645, it outpointed ARCI-5 at 12-10 that summed it up with 35 session points. Amolo is on top of Dabarkadz board totaling 696 for his third Bowler of the Week honor with games of 229, 241 and 226. Hairul cleared 686 for ARCI-5.

Pin Busters pursued well by blanking JB Alleygators with Ruel Perez, Jimmy Urbano and Lito Villanca boosting well with 682, 658 and 608 which turned out unmatched by Rey Feliciano 641, Pinky Acato 619 and Luz Pagaran 580. With TC Richard Antonio, Cloyd Opena and Grace Funtillon on par shares, Pin Busters walloped Alleygators at 22-0 (3,640-3,449) on the defenses of TC Serge Rivera, Manny TIbay and Gilbert Salindong on loser side. Pin Busters added 45 points to their purse but with 14 points disparity prior to the match the earlier got short of 4 points to dislodge Dabarkadz. Sagmit was comfortably winning the first two matches to be at fourth after two games, but when Micah’s Pride sensed that Cool Guys can also displace it on top, TC Ester Santoc moved to win the end game which they succeeded even in the total outcome at 3,404-3,380 taking 14 points and satisfying Sagmit with 8 points.  Cool Guys also did well against Pin Down so that with 20-2 cards and taking their seventh Team of week, the Jun de Dios team pushed down defending champion BCT-JBS Pip’s Pro Shop to third. The latter also dominated Kabalen Strikers at 18-4 but with only 3 points advantage before the match, Cool Guys toppled second spot due to their superlative output.

Ekis-9 failed the race to top four though it won over FB Rhinos at 12-10 on the top boarding of Malou Gime who garnered the Lady Bowler of this last week on total handicapped series of 659 built from 219, 211 and 229. RL Titans walked in the park in trashing undermanned Superbowl Dozers.

Ranking after two rounds: Micah’s Pride 848, Cool Guys 833, BCT-JBS 821, Dabarkadz 793, Pin Busters 789, Sagmit Dental Clinic 766, Ekis-9 751.5, Kabalen Strikers 749, Pin Down 693, FB Rhinos 594, RL Titans 587.5, JB Alleygators 564, ARCI-5 526, Superbowl Dozers 149.
