RIYADH — Riyadh Indian Association (RIA) and Faber Castell will jointly organize the Drawing and Coloring Competition for students of different schools in Riyadh on May 5, Sheikh Abdullah, president of RIA, disclosed this at a press meet at Jarir Conference hall. The competitions will be held at Isteraha Nofa on Exit 18 in Riyadh.

Abdullah said the competitions are being conducted to mark the 17th anniversary of RIA. The painting competition is being held for the second time and RIA has joined hands with famous stationery brand Faber Castell.
Briefing the details of the competition, he said around 650 students are expected to participate from different schools. In addition to the Indian schools the competition is open for the children from Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Philippines schools also.

He also said it will be an exciting opportunity for the children of different schools in Riyadh to exhibit their artistic talents. Attractive and expensive prizes will be presented to the winners in different categories like last year.

This competition will be held for the students of Indian subcontinent and Indian schools up to 18 years of age in three categories. Namely Drawing, Coloring and Painting competition or the sub juniors and juniors categories and painting competitions for seniors.

Abdullah also highlighted the activities of RIA and said it periodically conducts seminars on various subjects, hosts diverse competition on unique skills, organizes medical camps, blood donation camps and medical awareness camps aimed to the welfare of the community.

Brand manager of Faber Castell Mohammad Iqbal said, “We encourage the students in their artistic activity and have plans to offer an opportunity for selected students to visit Faber Castell, Germany. This is a good opportunity for the children to exhibit their skills.”

He also said that in the near future the Drawing and Coloring Competition will be held for students in Jeddah and Dammam also. He added that Faber Castell is present in the Saudi market since last four decades.

George Jacob, secretary, Binu Dharmarajan, convener, Magesh Prabhakara, convener, Rafal Devassy, Shiva Kumar, Media Coordinator Bala Chandran were also present at the meet.
