JEDDAH — Eighteen Dar Al-Hekma University students from different majors and academic levels won third place in the recently concluded INJAZ Al-Arab competition. Dar Al-Hekma University team won out of more than 313 students from 13 secondary schools and universities in the region. The jury included representatives from Coca-Cola, INJAZ Al-Arab, MasterCard and Crédit Agricole.
“Dar Al-Hekma University is proud of the team’s achievements, women like them are the leaders and entrepreneurs of our community who are ready to serve the country, take the responsibilities and preserve our values,” said Dr. Suhair Hassan Al Qurashi, president of Dar Al-Hekma University.
The team from Saudi Arabia won third place for their innovative Bayyenah Project and received a grant of $5,000 to implement and expand their project.
The project aims to raise awareness of the rights in our society. The team wants people to be aware of their rights so they can ask for them. They want them to know what they can have and what they have to do.
The Dar Al-Hekma University team included: Shroq Al-Hattami, Shahad Basaiwar, Nuha Basafi, Kenaz Aburashed, Marah Alshaban, Batool Ibrahim, Norah Munassar, Batool Alkaf, Waad Al-Qishawi, Manar Al-Hartani, Aya Almusbahi, Rajaa Safar, Nada Afandi, Sarah Al-Ammari, Reem Baubaid, Wed Nukaly, Nabilah Tarabzouni and Shahad Bakhsh.
Dar Al-Hekma University team applied for the competition so that its students get a chance to compete with other local and regional universities. It was a great opportunity for students as they were involved in risk taking project such as “Amwaj Farah”. It gave them the opportunity to prove themselves, to achieve a gratifying experience, to socialize, to evolve creativity and to provide for the community.
