JEDDAH  — Giordano, the global apparel retailer and one of the top five clothing brands in the world with more than 100 stores across Saudi Arabia, has inaugurated its first flagship store Tuesday at Al Mahmal Center, downtown Jeddah. The shop was inaugurated by Mazen Baterjee, vice chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ishwar Chugani, managing director of Giordano Middle East and executive director of Giordano International. Businessmen as well as well as personalities from the corporate world attended the inauguration.

Sheikh Hani Abdul Aziz Saab, chairman of the Board, Textile and Garments Co. that operates Giordano Saudi Arabia, welcomed the guests. Speaking to Saudi Gazette, he said “I am very happy to open the first Giordano flagship store today at Al Mahmal Center, which is located in the downtown of Jeddah. As the historical festival is also happening in the downtown, we are expecting more customers and sale in this store. The newest flagship in one of the city›s well known malls, Al-Mahmal Center in downtown , is set to increase the brand’s visibility manifold. “We at Giordano believe in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and strive to take part in the achievement of the vision by offering jobs to as many Saudis as possible both in sales and back offices,” he added.

Chugani said: We are very excited about this new store as this is the largest store in the Kingdom. We feel that Giordano is growing very fast. We would like to thank our customers for trusting us. Giordano plans to add seven new stores across Saudi Arabia before the year ends. The brand has established a solid base in Saudi Arabia through its excellent customer service culture and loyalty program WWS (World Without Strangers) and boasts of nearly 600,000 customers from different communities. “The brand›s merchandise is a mix of relaxed and smart casuals that has proven popular for all ages and nationalities demonstrating global appeal for the brand,” he added.

Ahmedullah, general manager, Giordano Saudi Arabia, said “it›s our pleasure to present full collection of all three concepts - Giordano Men›s, Women and Junior in one flagship store. Customer can also experience our merchandise thru digital screens and even do online shopping to be delivered at doorsteps. Giordano brings the online shopping experience in brick and mortar store by deploying digital screen and an online shopping area. Its idea is to offer family shopping ambience and a spacious area for relaxing and browsing through the magazines.”
