Educafe a big step in identifying best career options: Shahid Alam

JEDDAH – Indian Deputy Consul General and the School Observer Mohammed Shahid Alam has said the Gulf Madhyamam Educafe is a great step in identifying the best career options for Indian students who are appearing their final years of secondary school education.

He said that this festival would be beneficial for all participating students and their parents. He made the remarks while inaugurating the Educafe in a colorful ceremony at the packed Boys Section auditorium of International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) on Saturday. Alam congratulated Gulf Madhyamam for holding the Mideast’s largest Indian education and career exhibition in the Kingdom for the first time.

Nearly 2,000 students and their parents participated in the one-day festival of knowledge.

Alam also released the travel magazine of the Gulf Madhyamam called "Arabian Safari," by giving a copy to V.P. Mohammed Ali, chairman and managing director of Jeddah National Hospital.

Mohammed Iqbal, chairman of the IISJ managing committee, and Syed Masood Ahmed, principal of IISJ, also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Hamza Abbas, chief editor of Gulf Madhyamam daily, welcomed the gathering. Those who attended the opening ceremony included eminent educationist A.P.M. Mohammed Haneesh, K.M. Basheer, chairman of the Saudi executive committee of Gulf Madhyamam, C.K. Muhammad Najeeb, chief patron of Educafe, and Najmuddin, Jeddah coordinator of Gulf Madhyamam, and Rashid Khan, marketing manager of Gulf Madhyamam KSA.

The opening session was followed by the session “Go beyond with Mohammed Haneesh”, led by Haneesh, former director of education in Kerala.

In his highly inspiring speech, Haneesh noted that the achiever in life is the one who strives to realize his dreams by embracing some unique qualities such as hard work, dedication, truthfulness, originality and positivity in thinking, sympathy and empathy.

“Never get swayed by easy work but pursue real victory through years of hard work and perspiration,” he added.

Other speakers in the main sessions were celebrity mentalist Aathi Adarsh (Insomania: powerful mindreading technique ); Dr. Jason Fitzsimmons, international career expert from Australia (Infuse youth behavioral changes in teenagers); Sayid Sultan Ahmed, renowned trainer from Bangalore (How to select a career for better future); and Eng. M.M. Irshad, well-known Saudi trainer (Learn to learn).

There were also parallel sessions on topics such as media, all about entrance, know your aptitude, challenging gender roles, how to become an entrepreneur, career counseling, psychological counseling, and parenting.

Educational institutions, hospitals and clinics from the Gulf Cooperation Council states had stalls on the sidelines of the festival.
