RIYADH — The government is determined to cleanse Al-Mosouwarah, an undeveloped neighborhood in Al-Awamiyah, Qatif, of terrorists.

The authorities have embarked on a vigorous plan to develop the neighborhood, which was hitherto a haven for terrorists and criminal gangs.

Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, has instructed to hold all those who disrupt the development projects accountable for their crimes and deal with them sternly.

A large number of security forces have been deployed in the neighborhood so as to ensure that the development work progresses without any interruptions.

The Qatif Municipality in the Eastern Province has started its plan to cleanse the neighborhood of terrorist elements by demolishing all old and abandoned buildings. The area has unplanned buildings. The development project entails the demolition of 488 residential units and construction of shopping centers, restaurants, residential towers and a cultural center.
