JEDDAH — Khak-e-Taiba Trust (KTT), a social organization, organized a seminar titled “Isteqbal-e-Ramadan (Welcome Ramadan) here. President Mir Arif Ali welcomed the gathering.
Chief guest Maulana Syed Shah Khaleelullah Basheer Owais Bukhari said, “The holy month of Ramadan is a blessed month, and the days and nights of Ramadan gives all a great chance to please Allah.”
He shed light on importance of Ramadan and said, “Ramadan is a time when we can get multiple benefits for our good deeds. The main endeavors of Ramadan are fasting, night prayer (Taraweeh), searching of Shab-e-Qadr (night of Qadr), Itikaf and Sadaq-e Fitr.”
“One should help the underprivileged section of the society by giving zakat. It is the third pillar of Islam. It purifies the wealth and increases it,” he said, while explaining the details about zakat, when, where and to whom giving zakat is essential.
“Fasting from dawn to dusk does not only mean abstaining from food and drinks, but it also means devoting more time to worship and try to obtain ‘Taqwa’,” Bukhari said, adding “We should also teach our children to gain ‘Taqwa’ in Ramadan.”
He encouraged all the attendees to increase their prayers in Ramadan through Taraweeh and be particular about Astagfar. He also praised the efforts of KTT for educating poor children in India.
Syed Khaja Viqaruddin, KTT’s trustee and general secretary, Mohammed Shameem Kausar, the overseas trustee and patron, and Mohammad Arif Ali, KTT president, also spoke on the occasion.
Kausar announced that KTT School’s 10th class result was 100% this year. He said: “I am thankful to all well-wishers of KTT for their help and support in the noble cause.” He also appealed all to come forward and help KTT to accomplish its tasks.
Imran Kausar, director of KTT computer center, delivered a PowerPoint presentation on KTT’s different computer centers, and highlighted their future goals. He said, “The main aim of the Trust is to remove poverty from underprivileged section of the society and to educate among them. KTT School and Trust is successfully being run in India and the credit goes to Hyderabadi NRIs who are very actively supporting it.”
Earlier the program started with the recitation of some verses from the Qur’an by Maulana Syed Shah Khaleelullah Basheer Owais followed by a beautiful Naat from Salman Shakeel Afsar.
Executive member of Trust, Muhammad Muzzaffar, delivered the vote of thanks.
