RIYADH – Ali I. Al-Naimi, Saudi Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister and Chairman of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC)’s Board of Trustees, has appointed Dr. Muhammad M. Al-Saggaf as the President of the Riyadh-based Center.
The mandate of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center is to push forward the insight and understanding of energy challenges and opportunities, both domestically and globally, through high caliber research in energy economics, policy, technology, and the environment, and to advance the knowledge of efficient and sustainable energy production and consumption to create future value and prosperity for humanity.
Dr. Al-Saggaf holds a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and an MBA from KFUPM. He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Program for Management Development.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Al-Saggaf had assumed several roles related to energy technology and strategy. – SG
