CAIRO — The draw of the 2017 Arab Club Football Championship took place here Thursday.
The fixture contains 12 clubs from 10 Arab countries, split into three groups of four clubs. The group winners will qualify for the semifinals, while the fourth berth will be for the best runner-up.
The classification for the draw was according to the geographical region for the Arab countries: Red Sea, North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Sudan and Tunisia), MEA-Gulf (Saudi Arabaia and UAE), and the MEA - Levant (Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq).
The draw was as follows:
Group A: Al-Ahly (Egypt), Al-Faisaly (Jordan), Nasr Athlétique de Hussein Dey (Algeria), Al-Wehda (UAE).
Group B: Zamalek (Egypt), Fath Union Sport (Morocco), Al-Nasr (Saudi Arabia), Al-Ahed (Lebanon).
Group C: Merrikh (Sudan), Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Naft Alwasat (Iraq), Espérance Sportive (Tunisia)
The tournament will kickoff on June 22 in Egypt. The final will be on Aug. 5. One group will be playing in Alexandria, and the rest two groups will be based in Cairo. — SG
