JEDDAH — Scintillating centuries from the blades of Makki (157), Amir Wahla (103) and Danish (107) were the highlights of the 8th week matches of the Jotun Paints Saudi Cup, sponsored by Jotun Paints Saudi Arabia and organized by Jeddah Cricket Assocciation (JCA).
Pak Makkah mainstay Makki notched up a superb 157 to beat Kashmir Stags by 3 wickets despite Danish’s unbeaten 107 (56 balls, 13 fours, 1 six). Amir Wahla’s consistency prevailed with a quick-fire 103 in 42 balls aided by 9 sixes and 8 fours that enabled Naseem Al-Zahra beat Al-Burj by 58 runs.
Jamoom Tigers skittled out Awan CC for a paltry 47 after amassing 232 for 6 with contributions from Adnan 75 (9 fours, 2 sixes) and Ali Malik 71 (15 fours) to win by 185 runs. Jamoom Fighters fought bravely to beat Eirad Travels by 48 runs, thanks to Zafar’s polished knock of 84 off 40 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Half centuries from consistent Nazeer (50) and Qureshi (50 runs and 2 for 20) enabled ARM United beat Makkah Kings by 7 wickets and remain unbeaten. UT Lines downed Pak Shaheen by 4 wickets as Waleed picked up 4 for 30. Makkah Eagles’ Makki (3 for 22), Shahzad (2 for 13) and Hasnain (2 for 35) bowled well in tandem to skittle out Saudi Oil for 143 and win by 7 wickets.
