RIYADH — The Pakistan Haj Volunteers group (PHVG) organized its annual awards and certificates distribution ceremony 2016 of Riyadh region recently.
A large number of PHVG volunteers, who performed duties during Haj 1437H, attended the function.
Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Waseem Bukhari, media coordinator PHVG told that Abdul Shakoor Sheikh, welfare attaché at Pakistan Embassy, was the chief guest.
Sheikh praised the efforts of PHVG volunteers and said they are doing a commendable job. He said to serve pilgrims (Guest of Allah) is an honor and worship. PHVG volunteers have an opportunity to serve pilgrims. These services are for Allah’s reward and pleasure.
Sheikh assured that Pakistan government and Haj Mission would continue to provide all possible support and cooperation to PHVG and will try to removed difficulties faced the volunteers during the Haj services.
Yousuf Ismail coordinator PHVG Riyadh region delivered welcome address. He said we have community volunteers from all walks of life. He highlighted the activities of the group from 2011 to 2016.
Sulman Araen Chief, coordinator of PHVG Saudi Arabia, said, “Allah choose us from millions of people to serve pilgrims.” He said we started in 2011 with only 85 volunteers. In 2016 there was 4000 registered volunteers. He added that PHVG is looking for a legal cover to work more efficiently during the Haj.
A large number of PHVG volunteers, who performed duties during Haj 1437H, attended the function. Local prominent journalists also received awards and certificate. Adnan Naseer conducted the ceremony.
PHVG is a non-governmental, non-political group with an aim to earn reward from Allah by serving pilgrims as they perform Haj.
