RIYADH — On June 8, the Japanese Ambassador Norihiro Okuda and his wife invited alumni of Japanese universities here and their families for an Iftar at the Ambassador’s Residence.

Ambassador Okuda referred to the invigorated relationship between Japan and Saudi Arabia, as a number of cooperation projects have been ongoing in various fields along Saudi-Japan Vision 2030.

The Ambassador expressed his appreciation of the alumni’s contribution: now they are symbolically bridging the two countries, playing pivotal roles in the bilateral relation regardless of their fields.

During the Iftar, the alumni renewed old friendship and exchanged opinions for further strengthening the relationship including support for incoming Saudi graduates from Japan.

On the next day in Japan, Prime Minister Abe hosted an Iftar at Prime Minister’s Official Residence with 38 Ambassadors of Muslim countries attending.
