RIYADH — Hindustani Bazme Urdu, an organization working for the cause of promoting Urdu language in the Kingdom, started Bazme Urdu Toastmasters Club nearly three years ago to provide a platform to the Urdu-speaking community here to improve their communication skills.

Celebrating its 75th meeting at the Red Onion restaurant here a large number of Urdu lovers, Area and Division directors attended the event. Dr. Hifzur Rahman Azmi, first secretary at Indian Embassy, was the chief guest.
He said, only few people are left who are striving for the promotion and development of the Urdu language and Bazme Urdu Toastmaster is one of them.
He said, “It is need of the hour to do the needful for Urdu, and only a few committed people are struggling for the betterment of Urdu language.”

While stressing the fact that everyone needs to put in efforts for the development of Urdu, he appreciated Hindustani Bazme Urdu’s initiative in starting a Toastmasters Club in Urdu here.

TM Taqiuddin Mir, president of the club, said that he is contacting different organizations in Riyadh to convince them to open toastmasters club under their banner. He said that he had got good response from some organization and then highlighted the club’s achievements

He also announced the formation of Gavel club for the children, which will be bilingual in English and Urdu languages.

TM Abdul Rahman Saleem, Area 1 Director presented in detail the journey of the club during the last three years. He encouraged the audience to become part of the Bazme Urdu Toastmasters Club.

Delivering a motivational speech, past President TM Abdul Hameed was explicit and effective. While Vice President Taqiuddin Mir regaled the audience with his humorous monologue written by Nayeem Javed and presented by Ahsan Ahmed.

TM Mohammed Mubin, a founder member, introduced the Toastmaster officials and gave a brief about the structure of the organization.

District Champion Adel Juhaiman and Senior Toastmaster Mohammed Al-Hajeri also spoke on this occasion, while achievement awards were presented.
The program was anchored by TM Azeemuddin Zubair and TM Shahbaz Farooqui.
The event began with recitation of verses from Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Khaja Aleemuddin and vote of thanks was delivered by TM Sayeed Mohiuddin.

Guest of honor Architect Ahmeduddin Owaisi, DTM Saif Ali Sheikh, DTM Samer Kamal, DTM Syed Waqas, Mohammed Quaiser, president, OUAAR, were also present.

Toastmasters is a non-profit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills.
