OMAN Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, hosted the four-day 21st Annual Conference of the International Association of Airline Internal Auditors (IAAIA) that ended on Wednesday.

Mohammed Al Musafir, Chief Officer Internal Audit, Oman Air and Chairman of the IAAIA 21st Annual Conference, said: “This is a highly specialized area of Internal Auditing which plays a vital role in the success of the international aviation and transportation industry. Since 1991, the annual conference has become the key event for professionals from around the world to network, share experiences and discuss best practices.”

The event also provided an excellent opportunity for internal auditors to voice opinions over future decisions impacting the airline audit environment, in line with the conference theme of “Navigating through turbulent times; in a world of opportunities, is internal audit up to the challenge”.

The IAAIA is the only voluntary, non-profit organization serving the aviation industry’s audit community and comprised of over 60 member airlines from around the world. — SG
