JEDDAH – The Khak-e-Taiba Trust (KTT), an education and community welfare organization, recently organized a valedictory reception for Suhail Hussain, Indian Youth Congress General Secretary of Hyderabad, here.
Emphasizing on the need to promote education, Hussain said: “Education is the only means of poverty alleviation.” He appealed to all the non-governmental educational organizations like KTT and others to work toward eradicating illiteracy.
“Under the national commission for minorities a 15-point program focusing mainly on the promotion of education has been initiated by the ruling congress party in India to alleviate poverty among the poorest-of-the-poor,” he said.
An educationist by profession, Hussain recently visited UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) for a debate and a talk show, where he highlighted the fast pace of reforms undergoing by developing nations like India.
During the course of his debate, Hussain said that international standard educational institutions like Oakridge and Chirac Public Schools should be brought under the gamut of those schools that offer at-least 30 percent seats to the poor, otherwise their licenses should be revoked.
President of the trust Aijaz Ahmed Khan thanked Hussain for his support for the educational cause. Khan said the trust has always remained in the forefront for imparting quality education free of cost. The three schools running under its patronage in India and the computer and career guidance center in Jeddah are small steps toward the trust’s commitment to elevate the standards of education among the deprived sections of the society.
The Patron and the Overseas Trustee, Shameem Kausar, who is also the founder-member of KTT, requested the visiting dignitaries to personally pay a visit to their three existing educational projects in Hyderabad.
Hussain promised to visit the schools, promising that he would ensure that these institutions get government aid on priority basis.
The convener of the program and the forum’s general secretary, Syed Khaja Viqaruddin, briefly highlighted the achievements of the two-decade old trust.
