IISJ observes Earth day


The Earth Day was observed on April 22, 2012 in International Indian School (Grade 6 - Grade 8), girls’ section. The program was organized by the Science department.
The event commenced with the school observing the Earth hour, shutting down the power in the entire girls school. Students then took a pledge that they will all join hands and educate everyone around them to save our Earth, which is a wonderful gift of nature.
A few verse from the Qur’an were recited followed by short speeches from Rehaf and Fareeha of Grade 8, stressing the importance of Earth Day, its origin and the reason for observing it. A powerpoint presentation was shown to students, highlighting the Earth Day’s significance and various facts about the beautiful, nature getting polluted by man.
Different methods to save our natural and valuable resources was stressed upon.
The program came to an end with a skit depicting the effects and impact of modernization on the environment.
