RIYADH — Saudi singer Muhammad Abdo says he will miss Saleh Al-Shehri, the composer who died Tuesday.

Abdo has offered his condolences to the family, according to an Arabic daily.

“Saleh was a very polite person and I’m sad he’s gone. No doubt the Saudi and Gulf music industry has lost one of its great composers.” Abdo said he was Al-Shehri’s friend.

He added that the composer spent most of his life taking care of his sick mother before she died. Al-Shehri suffered from a medical condition but he never told anyone around him about it because he didn’t want them to be concerned, Abdo added. He said it was rare for someone to be so considerate. — SG
