DUBAI – Facebook announced Thursday an update to its messenger app for iOS and Android. Facebook Messenger users can now record and send voice messages up to one minute in length.

To operate the new feature, users have to Just tap ‘+’ next to the box where they write a message, then tap ‘Record’ and hold down the record button to talk.

When ready to send, they can just release the button.

In addition to the voice message function, Facebook is also working on true VoIP calling through the Messenger app, which will be rolling out over the next few weeks. The free calling service is being tested in Canada on iOS. — SG
