JEDDAH — Residents of the historical Abraq Al-Raghamah neighborhood, in east Jeddah, have complained of putrid waters that have flooded the neighborhood streets. These waters re-appeared after the rainfall of two weeks ago. Residents say that they have been suffering from such conditions for more than three years. These pools of water provide an ideal germination place for mosquitoes, and threaten the environment. In addition, these waters also threaten the foundation of nearby buildings. The contractor for water disbursement ceased operations six months ago, completing his work partially at the neighborhood entrance.
