DUBAI — After over 1,500 concerts and 25 years of touring the world, experiencing different cultures and composing musical illustrations inspired by these travels, Trio d’Argent performs at the Dubai Community Theater and Arts Center (DUCTAC) at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai on Jan. 16.
The evening of cultural bliss is organized by the Dubai Concert Committee, in cooperation with the Alliance Française in Dubai. The three flutists — Michel Boizot, François Daudin-Clavaud and Xavier Saint-Bonnet — will perform works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Freidrich Kulhau and others.
Among the flutists’ own compositions is Daudin-Clavaud’s “Le Souffle d’Hermès,” which attempts to portray the march of nomads travelling “toward a new oasis where sometimes spring awaits them.” Although they play “proper” classical music, the musicians also add different visual and auditory elements to their performances, to enhance the mood of their music while engaging every audience member.
The concert is free to all comers thanks to the generous support of sponsors, namely: Emirates, Mont Blanc, Dubai Airports, Airbus, Pullman Dubai Mall of the Emirates, RAK Bank, Deutsche Bank, and more. — SG
