JEDDAH — Residents of Jeddah’s Madaen Al-Fahd neighborhood were surprised when municipality trucks dumped waste in open grounds in their neighborhood. Although they have become accustomed to the piles of waste that is rarely attended to by cleaning crews, they did not expect such an act from the municipality cleaning teams. The residents said they are in a dilemma, since many of their previous complaints to the municipality have not been attended to. African women are seen frequenting the neighborhood and ruffling through the waste for recyclable items.
